The Yangtze River: A corridor nurturing biodiversity
Date: 2026-01-29
Serving as a "biodiversity conservation corridor", the world's largest clean?energy corridor has conducted a total of 65 ecological dispatch trials across five categories between 2011 and 2025, which have achieved remarkable results. These trials significantly boosted the reproduction of pelagophil fish, including the four major Chinese carps, and led to the discovery of rare suckers naturally breeding in the Jingjiang Reach of the Yangtze?River.
Furthermore, by simulating natural spawning environments, two large-scale release events have been conducted over the last two years, introducing over 900,000 rare and endemic fish into the river, fulfilling the mission to bring life back to these waters.
